He had learned to survive life on his own, and was confident that each new chapter would be as ill-fated as the last. That is until he meet an inspirational Christian girl his senior year at a new high school. Albert grew up in an L.A. neighborhood run by gangs and it didn't take much to join one and start living the gang life. He became less interested in school and started down a path that led him in and out of jail. Tired of the life of addiction and hopelessness, Albert longed to be sober, eventually checking into a discipleship program. Joe Jacobs is your regular-joe working for UPS and dating a nice girl. But his story didn't start like that, nor has it ended there. Joe witnessed the murder of his parents as a child, and to make matters worse he was placed in an abusive foster home. To say the least, anger consumed Joe's life. When David was 2 years old he lost his mother to a heart attack. By the time he was 6 years old his father was institutionalized, forcing David and his sister to live with their abusive stepmother. Daily beatings left the two bruised and broken, yet too fearful to tell anyone. After years of anger and heartache, more loss and family disasters, David was inspired by his nephew to take a take a better look at his life.
